We went apple picking with Elise and Dave P near Beliot, WI. Then we all went back to the condo and made apple pie.

We went with Dave P and Jill to Arlington Park International Racecourse to watch the horse races. After a few races we met up with Elise. It was a nice day and we ended up winning about $6.

Boppy came to visit from Connecticut. He stated with the Thorps for 3 weeks. While he was he we all did a bunch of stuff with him we went to the Frontier Days Festival in Arlington Heights, The Hoffman Estates 4th of July festival, played Uno, played croquet. We also went to a concert in the park and the Kane County Fair, the Dupage County Fair, toasted marshmallows, and played Michigan Rummy.

Christmas 2003 [47 Images]
For this Christmas we lived in Orem and everyone came out to visit us. Elise came out from New Jersey and Rob & Stephanie came out from California. We all went to Temple Square and a drive-through christmas light place. Dave C came out from Chicago and Kim came up from Salt Lake for Christmas Eve. For Christmas Morning Kim came back up and joined us to open presents.

Again we lost a good number of pics from this year as well. These are from Christmas Eve at our house with Elise, Dave and Jill. Also Leslie and I went to see the Christmas lights at Arlington Racetrack.

There are alot of photos in this one, because there were several different events that happened. First we went over to Dave and Jill's to help decorate. Then we were at the Thorps to make Christmas cookies with them and Elise. We spent Christmas Eve and the night at Dave and Jill's and then back to the Thorp's for Christmas Day. Later in the week Rob and Stephanie came up from Florida and we openned presents with them too. whew!

We did quite a bit for Christmas this year. We met with Dave C and his friend Jenny from Australia on the 23rd, Dave P and Jill on Christmas Eve, the Thorps on Christmas Day, later on Christmas Day we went snowtubing with Elise, Rob & Stephanie, then the next day we met with Charlotte and Matt and exchanged presents.

We took a trip to Connecticut in August. We drove out there with the Thorps, stopping at the Delaware Water Gap, and in New Jersey on the way.

While we were in Utah Elise was staying with us for a few weeks. Brady was also in town. So we got together with Elise's friend Marcy and went disco skating. Afterwards we went back to our apartment to celebrate brady's birthday.

For Easter dessert Leslie make mini bunny cakes for everybody. There were chocolate ones with pink icing, and lemon ones with white icing. Then Leslie took a pick in her Easter basket. We started Easter morning by going to church. Afterwards we went to the Cracker Barrel with Elise and the Thorps, and then went back to their house. Later we went with Elise to Dave and Jill's house for a ham dinner.

Field Museum - Behind the Scenes with the Witts [159 Images]
The Witts invited Leslie to go with them for a special "behind the scenes" visit to the Field Museum. They meet with two friends of the Witts at the museum, and were able to slip a visit into the Insect Collection with a third friend as well (it is one of the biggest in the world under one roof.) We'll spend time behind the scenes in the Dinosaur/Paleontology labs and a nice overall tour of the upper levels which include the Research/Curator Offices, Design Studios and Workshops, as well as the general exhibits.

We went with Laurie and Elise to a Groundhog Day Parade in Old Saybrook, Conncticut. It was fun, when the end of the parade goes by you get up and join it. At the end of the parade route everyone hangs around and has cider and doughnuts.

While we were at the University of Utah, worked one summer at Utah's Hogle Zoo. Leslie worked in the gift shop and Dennis worked as a train driver. While we were there a baby polar bear was born.

We went on our honeymoon to Paradise Island, Bahamas. We had access to the famous Atlantis resort. It was a week of sun, sand, and fun.

Huge Storm 8-23-07 [55 Images]
On Thursday August 23, 2007 there was a massive storm that blew through the Chicago area. While it was at it's full height there were winds of 80 miles an hour. It ripped limbs off trees and in some cases blew whole trees over. It also rained about 5 inches in a little over an hour. Here are some pictures that I took of the aftermath.

For the 150th anniversary of the Mormon Pioneer's Trek into the Salt Lake Valley our church youth group planned a handcart trek. We started from Nauvoo and crossed the Mississippi River and spent about a week trekking in Iowa.
